Macon-Bibb Fire Safety Training Center
In May 2022, construction commenced on the new facility with a budget of $3.2 million. The majority of the funding, $2.8 million, was secured through the voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), while the remaining amount was allocated from the County’s general fund. The selection and design of the facility were the result of careful consideration and research by the Chief, County Manager, and firefighters, who visited various training centers across the country to ensure that the new facility met the exact needs of the firefighters.
