About this project.
Construction began in May 2022 with a project budget of $3.2 million. Voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funding provided $2.8 million, with the balance allocated from the County’s general fund.
The Chief, County Manager, and firefighters researched facilities across the country to help guide the selection and design of a training center suited to local firefighters’ needs.
